VATSIM is an online community created for enthusiasts of flight simulation and air traffic control. One of the main goals of VATSIM is to create an environment which is fun and, at the same time, educational and a realistic simulation of procedures followed by pilots and air traffic controllers around the world. To further these goals, members of VATSIM must comply with the following Code of Conduct. This Code sets forth how members are expected to conduct themselves.

The 'VACC Sri Lanka and Maldives' is the local organization serving Flight Information Regions of Sri Lanka (VCCF) and Maldives (VRMF), and established within VATWA to perform the following roles:

> Create and maintain a local VATSIM community for all VATSIM members belonging to the vACCSRM area.

> Organize events and collaborate with neighboring vACC's events.
> Coordinate training of new air traffic controllers.
> Coordinate ATC operations within vACCSRM airspace.
> Maintain archives of required material for Pilots and ATC within vACCSRM airspace.
> Communicate with VATWA regarding local matters and procedures.
> Brief visiting controllers and pilots on operational procedures.

SRM provides Center Control for VCCF (Colombo FIR) and VRMF (Maldives FIR) and Approach/Departure, Tower, Ground, Delivery control services for main international airports available within the area:

1. VCBI Colombo Bandaranaike Intl.
2. VCRI Mattala Rajapaksa Intl.
3. VRMM Male Velana Intl.
4. VRMG Gan Intl.

At vACCSRM all your correspondence is handled by real people. We do not use automated replies, and you are not sending messages to machines. We personally attend to all your requests as we believe in the human touch.

We do not act like a big brother to scrutinize all your action because all our flying/controlling gears are not identical. Vatsim flying/controlling is a hobby to you as well as to us. We trust that you will operate all flights and conduct your controlling duties as realistic and accurate as possible, within expected procedures.

Without your permission we do not reveal your personal and controlling data to a third party.

How do you join VATSIM West Asia, so you can start or continue your ATC carrier with us?
  • Please read the Vatsim 'Code of Conduct' for pilots and controllers.
  • If you do not have a VATSIM account, get one for free at VATSIM. If you have any membership related questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
  • To check your Vatsim flying or controller record visit Vatsim Statistics Center.
  • If you are a VATSIM member, but do not belong to VATWA Division, please visit VATSIM Member Services to change your Division.
  • You must also be a member of VATSIM Asia Region (VATASIA), if NOT follow this link to Change Region. Note that a Region transfer can take a few days, as it requires approval.
  • When Region Change is completed, visit Division Deployment link and select West Asia as your Division. This action should be instant.
  • After you have selected your Division – Go to VATWA's web page, and read the VATWA Policy & Regulations. You have to read, understand and agree on this.
  • Then, check the VATWA vACC's Countries page and select the vACC you want to join. If you do not know if you are assigned to a vACC, please contact VATWA Membership. This is especially important if you want to become a Vatsim Air Traffic Controller, but also relevant for local Pilot training.
  • So you are only a few steps away from becoming part of Sri Lanka & Maldives vACC. Looking forward to seeing you online.
